My fascination with the human body was inspired by my first anatomy professor. My admiration grew deeper during my osteopathic training, as I learned how incredible our body works to ensure health and vitality. Since then, I more strongly believe that the true mark of health is dependent largely upon our own experience. This involves not only our physical health, but also our mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. This is why I love functional medicine and its principles. No two people are exactly alike. Therefore, it is impossible to treat patients with a “one size fits all” approach.

My journey as a family physician has taken me from “inside the box” to beyond the borders of the traditional model of patient care. The “name that disease and treat with this prescription drug” standard was not effective for my patients with chronic medical problems.  When I stopped practicing reactive medicine and adopted a functional medicine approach, I became a better doctor.

I believe you, my patient, has a unique story to tell.  I believe testing that goes beyond the routine blood tests helps me understand your unique imbalances that need to be corrected in order to restore your health. I also believe lifestyle and dietary changes are often more powerful tools than a prescription drug.

Primary health care today is more dynamic, individualized and effective.   It is a privilege to be a part of my patient’s health journey.

Over time, chronic inflammation can damage healthy cells, tissues, and organs, and lead to many other health issues. That’s why we are obsessed with turmeric! ☀️
Turmeric contains a polyphenol called curcumin, that is known for it’s incredible medicinal, anti-inflammatory benefits. Curcumin is so powerful, that many studies have proven it to be similar to the effects of Prozac, helpful in treating RA, other chronic illnesses, and even helping to prevent cancers 🙌🏼
Because of all of these benefits, we find it vital to regularly incorporate turmeric into our diet. There are tons of ways to sneak turmeric into a dish, but today, we wanted to share a salad dressing that included this root!
We love this recipe, because of it’s minimal, yet powerfully healing ingredients all packed into one dressing! And if you don’t like the taste of turmeric, a major perk is that the other spices help to disguise the potent turmeric flavor, and create more of a lemony, nutty taste.
